since the rise of industrialization, humanity has often positioned itself above nature, disconnecting from its natural essence. “Who is Grieving When a Tree Dies?” challenges this anthropocentric view, proposing that nature has consciousness and an inherent right to exist.
as a audiovisual installation, the project encourages the audience to reconnect with nature, exploring it in a different way and questioning the value and rights of non-human entities.

philosopher andreas weber guides this exploration with his concept of ‘enlivenment,’ promoting a shift from a mechanistic to an interconnected worldview. his work challenges traditional human-centered thinking, advocating for a deeper, more ecological understanding of life.
